Introducing nineties anthems including “Ironic,” “You Oughta Know,” and “Hand In My Pocket,” Jagged Little Pill (1995) established Canadian singer-songwriter and Grammy Award winner Alanis Morissette as an alternative rock icon. Diane Paulus (Waitress, Finding Neverland, Pippin, The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess) directs this world premiere musical based on the groundbreaking album with a book by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody (Juno).

A new musical based on Alanis Morissette's 1995 album Jagged Little Pill will premiere May 2018 at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts. More

Jagged Little Pill changed Alanis Morissette's career and life in 1995, so it's only fitting in the Age of Infinite Revival that it be given new life on stage. The album containing hits like “Ironic,” “You Oughta Know,” and “Hand in My Pocket” will debut in 2018 as a stage musical. More

"This team that has come together for this 'Jagged Little Pill' musical is my musical theater dream come true," Morissette said in a statement. "The chemistry between all of us is crackling and I feel honored to be diving into these songs again, surrounded by all of this searing talent.” More

Jagged Little Pill will have its world premiere at the American Repertory Theater next year. More

Alanis Morissette rocked the world over 20 years ago when she released her international debut album Jagged Little Pill, which would go on to become an incredible success story in terms of sales, but also as an important moment in pop culture. Her rocking, angry record remains one of the most beloved and replayed albums ever created, and now the singer-songwriter is looking to continue to expand its legacy, this time in a way few could have ever expected when the title was first released. More

Alanis Morissette’s got one hand in her pocket, and the other one is writing a stage musical. More
