Meghan McGeary created the role of Hannah in The Blue Flower in 2001 and has participated in the further development of The Blue Flower since its inception. In 2005, she and Jim Bauer formed a band called DAGMAR which now plays around New York and Boston as a meta-folk duo. DAGMAR is heavily featured in the documentary "OASIS: Dig Out Your Soul in the Streets" (2009, by The Malloy Bros.) which won a Platinum Lion Award at Cannes and the Innovation Award at the UK Music Awards. From its origins as a small venue cabaret show to its current iteration as a large American Repertory Theater production, The Blue Flower, named after the German Expressionist notion of the eternal pursuit of the unattainable, has gone through many changes in the 10 years that creators Jim and Ruth Bauer and actress Meghan McGeary have been working on the production.
