Dirkje Houtman (co-adaptor of Wings of Desire) has been the dramaturg at Toneelgroep Amsterdam since 1992. She has also worked as theater critic for Trouw and the Haagse Post, and as editor of the Dutch theater magazine Toneel Theatral. She has collaborated with such directors as Gerardjan Rijnders (Le Cid, L’Ilusion Comique), Ivo van Hove (Charles Mee’s True Love), and Adelheid Roosen (The Veiled Monologues and Is.Man). Other projects with Ola Mafaalani include The Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet, and Clockwork Orange. Her translations include Richard Maxwell’s Good Samaritans, which was commissioned by Toneelgroep Amsterdam.
