Student Matinee Series:
Performances of A.R.T. productions are offered to schools throughout the season, and feature deeply discounted tickets, comprehensive study guides, and pre-show discussions.
College Night:
Co-sponsored by the Harvard Radcliffe Dramatic Club, one performance of each A.R.T. production is offered to college students throughout Greater Boston free-of-charge.
The Island of Anyplace:
A production developed especially for young audiences, Island is designed to introduce the elements of live theater through a lively, interactive play followed by a discussion with the cast members.
Student Pass/Student Rush Ticket Programs:
Discounted tickets are available for any student with an ID. Tickets can be purchased at an extremely deep discount either by purchasing an advance bundle, or coming on the afternoon of the performance. The theater also offers group and senior discounts to all performances throughout the season.
PlayBack:
Free post-show discussions are held with members of the A.R.T. artistic staff every Saturday matinee throughout the season.
Pre-Show Discussions:
A subscription series is offered in which audiences join a discussion related to the subject matter of the production prior to seeing the performance.
Backstage Tours:
With special arrangement, tours are conducted throughout the season for students and teachers.
Internships:
High school and college students work with various A.R.T. departments throughout the season, gaining valuable professional experience and getting a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes world of the theater.
Classroom Visits:
Dramaturgs coordinate with visiting school groups to work with texts in local high schools and colleges prior to attending the theater.
Institute Productions:
The A.R.T. Institute, in collaboration with the Harvard University Office of Community Affairs, will tour its mainstage production of The Winter’s Tale to local high schools in October of 2009. Schools TBA.
