Matt Chiorini has most recently been hired by the University of Central Arkansas to create and run the Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre, an AEA summer festival in Conway, Arkansas outside of Little Rock. Prior to this move he had been living in Nashville, Tennessee since 1999, performing and directing with various theatres in the area and in the southeast. During this time, he also served as adjunct theater faculty at Belmont University; created and maintained the "Repertory Theatre at Sea" for Crystal Cruises; and served as Artistic Director for People's Branch Theatre, which was voted "Best Local Theatre" for two of his three seasons at the helm. His play If the Shoe Fits is licensed by Dramatic Publishing and has received over a dozen productions nationwide. In 2005, he was awarded the Individual Artist Fellowship for the state of Tennessee. He is is a 1999 graduate of the American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University, and is married to former A.R.T staff member Lynn Kasper. They have a 2 year old daughter (Anka) and another child due in July 2007.
