A couple of weeks ago we had an amazing workshop presentation of an opera in progress, Death and the Powers. It has a libretto by Robert Pinsky, music by MIT Media Lab composer Todd Machover, and our very own Diane Paulus is at its helm. The workshop ended in a presentation with projections that gave the audience a pretty good idea of what this extraordinary robot opera is going to look like. I took some photos of the cast and presentation; here is a sampling. It is hoped to be part of our 2010-11 season.

The death and the Powers by Robert pinsky is a wonderful workshop presentation. Todd Machover who is the media lab composer is the one behind the music. So you can guess how much good Death and the Powers is! The robot opera certainly showed that it can catch audiences very well. the photos of cast and presentations definitely showed it. I mean what more can you expect from a robot opera. Good job! Hannamint Canopy Indiana Heart
