Our award-winning education and community programs provide an unprecedented level of access to A.R.T. artists and productions.
We believe a great arts experience doesn't begin and end at the theater door. Through subsidized tickets to A.R.T. productions, mentoring opportunities, private performances, innovative theater workshops, artist talks, and more, the A.R.T. is dedicated to expanding the community's engagement with great theater.
Our primary programs, the Education Experience and Community Connections, are season-long partnerships with local schools and non-profit organizations in the Boston area. Both provide a custom-built enrichment curriculum that ties each A.R.T. season production with existing classroom activities or organizational focuses.

The A.R.T.'s creative theater class, Fairy Tale Theater, offers a hands-on theatermaking experience for children aged 4-9. Fairy Tale Theater runs every Saturday morning in the fall and spring.
Free community classes, such as A.R.T. Great Shakes! (a fun and physical Acting Shakespeare class for teens), are offered at the A.R.T. throughout the season. Click on "Community Classes" to access the most up-to-date calendar of events.
The American Repertory Theater is also the home of one of the country's top graduate training programs for theater professionals. The A.R.T. Institute for Advanced Theater Training is a five-semester program conferring MFA degrees in Acting, Dramaturgy & Theater Studies, and Voice.
